Principal Electrical Engineer


Lou is the owner of Irvine Consulting Engineers, LLC, located in Malvern PA.  Lou is a valuable team member at PCS and is the lead engineer for all of PCS's Electrical Engineering projects.


Lou’s career started in Philadelphia as a Drexel Co-op student. Lou has 35 years of electrical engineering experience in the construction industry. He has worked with a broad range of clients from project inception through the final planning stages in order to produce the most cost effective and efficient design. His extensive experience and energetic approach provides clients with options in value engineering before finalizing design, design concepts along with design-build planning, master specifications, his detailed review ensures projects are completed successfully.

Lou provides Electrical Engineering Services in the area of: 1) Design Documents for Mission Critical, Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial Construction and Renovation; 2) Lighting Design Services for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial users; 3) Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems Design Services for Residential, Commercial, Institutional and Industrial users; 4) Survey and Report for Due Diligence, Energy Conservation and cost savings.

Project history includes electrical engineering and project management for Mission Critical/Data Center Projects, Pharmaceutical Laboratory, Manufacturing Facilities and Office Space, Residential and Retail Spaces, Healthcare Facilities and Educational Facilities/Dormitory Projects, Hi Rise Condominiums and Commercial Business areas.

DETAILED EXPERIENCE, ELECTRICAL INFASTURCTURE
Relevant Data Center/Disaster Recovery Center Assessments
Completed several building assessments for clients interested in Real Estate Commercial Properties, Cable Company’s Regional Data Center and NJ Healthcare Provider’s Disaster Recovery Center.  Assessments included evaluating the existing equipment for condition and reuse, infrastructure improvement recommendations and space planning; order of magnitude budget estimates to compare different solutions, gap analyst based on owner’s criteria and coordinated recommendations on utility upgrades with local utilities.

Infrastructure Experience
Planning and implementing substation upgrades over several buildings within the manufacturing plant.  Project highlights developing project estimates, substation upgrades, and sizing temporary electrical service to maintain manufacturing while the substations are upgraded.
